The mononuclear structure of Cd(S 2 CNEt 2 ) 2 (2,9-Me 2 -1,10-phenanthroline) shows symmetric coordination of the dithiocarbamate ligands and a distorted octahedral geometry for cadmium, defined by an N 2 S 4 donor set, results.
In (C 11 H 12 N 4 ) 2 ZnCl 2 , the zinc(II) center is coordinated by the pyridine nitrogen atoms of two 4-[N,N-bis(2-cyanoethyl)amino]pyridine ligands and two chlorine atoms in a tetrahedral geometry.
In the dinuclear molecule of [(C 5 H 4 N) 3 N] 2 CdCl 2 CdCl 2 , one cadmium is octahedrally coordinated by a Cl 2 N 4 donor set and the other cadmium is tetrahedrally coordinated by four chlorine atoms. The dinuclear units are connected by ฯ -ฯ interactions to give a two-dimensional network.
