Source of material: Synthesis from acidic melt of P2O5, H1PO4 and cobalt hydroxide carbonate at about 673 K. This structure is isomorphous to magnesium and zinc ultraphosphate (see refs. 1 and 2). Monoclinic, P12i/cl (No. 14), a = 5.320(1 ) Â, b = 22.263(2) À, c = 7.408(1 ) Â, ß = 110.070(9)°, V = 824.1 Â3. Z = 4, R = 0.035.
