conjugate addition reaction efficiently and the butyl manganese chloride could be indifferently prepared from butyllithium or butyhnagnesium halide. As shown in Table I and II, the scope of this reaction is very broad. Thus, high yields of 1,4-addition products were obtained from a vast array of cy
