## Abstract Novel 3,4‐didehydropyroglutamate derivatives, the key intermediates in this synthesis, were obtained from a protected pyroglutamate by the well‐known selenenylation‐oxidative deselenenylation method and were catalytically deuterated using a slow‐addition technique. The obtained deuterat
