## Abstract Tomatoes having colourless or “waxy” areas in the walls are shown to have a lower content of dry matter than normally ripened fruit. Lower concentrations of total soluble solids, sugars, nitrogenous compounds and titratable acids are also found in sap expressed from “waxy” than from nor
