✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel compact miniaturized stepped impedance low‐pass filter using an improved split ring resonator defected ground structure is proposed. This filter has the advantages of compact size, easy fabrication. When compared with conventional SIR, it has a sharp cutoff characteristic with low insertion loss. It is quite useful for common planar circuits and devices. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A novel compact microstrip low‐pass filter (LPF) with ultra‐wide stopband, low insertion loss, and sharp cutoff is introduced in this letter. The LPF is composed of a stepped‐impedance hairpin resonator, a square split‐ring resonator, defected ground structure (DGS), and a pair of coupl
## Abstract A novel compact microstrip low‐pass filter (LPF) is proposed using open circuit stubs and square patches alongwith complementary split ring resonator (CSRR). It exhibits wide stopband and sharp rejection. A demonstration LPF, having 3‐dB cutoff frequency of 1.45 GHz, was fabricated and
## Abstract A novel compact microstrip low‐pass filter is proposed using defected ground structure and spurline. The measured passband to stopband attenuation slope is more than 73 dB/GHz. Electrical length of the filter is less than 20% of the guided wavelength at 3 dB cutoff frequency. Measured s
## Abstract In this article, a novel transmission line (TL) shunt stepped impedance open stub configuration has been presented to design a dual‐band bandstop filter with impedance controlled center frequencies and bandwidths. Design guidelines are derived using lossless TL model. The high‐impedance
## Abstract Microstrip bandpass filters are widely used in a variety of microwave subsystems to select a desired band of frequencies. However, common filter topologies with uniform impedance resonators exhibit poor stop‐band performance. This is due to the occurrence of harmonic passbands at multip
