✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A novel compact microstrip low‐pass filter is proposed using defected ground structure and spurline. The measured passband to stopband attenuation slope is more than 73 dB/GHz. Electrical length of the filter is less than 20% of the guided wavelength at 3 dB cutoff frequency. Measured stopband attenuation is greater than 20 dB over more than 17.5 GHz band. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. ## Abstract A novel compact microstrip low‐pass filter (LPF) is proposed using open circuit stubs and square patches alongwith complementary split ring resonator (CSRR). It exhibits wide stopband and sharp rejection. A demonstration LPF, having 3‐dB cutoff frequency of 1.45 GHz, was fabricated and
## Abstract In this article, a novel gradual change defected ground structure (DGS) for low‐pass filter (LPF) design is presented and analyzed. The proposed DGS combined with open stubs is presented to enhance the out‐band suppression. The equivalent circuit model and simulated results for the DGS
## Abstract A novel compact microstrip low‐pass filter (LPF) is proposed in this article. The proposed LPF is composed of semicircle‐defected ground structures (S‐DGS) and semicircle stepped‐impedance shunt stubs (S‐SISS). An equivalent lumped L‐C circuit model is also presented. With the S‐DGS and
## Abstract A novel ϕ‐shape defected ground structure (DGS) is proposed in this article.Low‐pass filters are designed using the ϕ‐shape DGS with H shape open stubs line. Single, two‐cascaded and three‐cascaded ϕ‐shape DGS low‐pass filters are designed, simulated, fabricated, and measured. The reson
