β¦ Synopsis
Comments are made on the data reported by Kfogensen, Pedersen and Anderson on positron reactions with pseudo-halide ions in water and on their interpretation. Although some of our previous experimental curves are in agreement with theirs there is a major discrepancy with some of their semiempiriul data, pointing to internal inconsistencies in their results. The possibiity of another interpretation of the data is su&ested_

Ah&act -The interaction of hexamethylenetetramine (HMT) with alkali halides in water and in formamide solution has been studied by employing conductance measurements. Conductance data of sodium and potassium halides in water and in formamide saturated by HMT at 50.0 & 0.05" are reported at several t
The zwitterion, formed from the reaction of an alkyl isocyanide and a dialkyl acetylenedicarboxylate, reacts with phenacyl halides in H 2 O to produce g-iminolactone derivatives in high yields. H 2 O helps to avoid the use of highly toxic and environmentally unfavorable solvents for this conversion.
