✦ Synopsis

Accurate quantum-mechanical vakres of the collision-induced absorption coefficient are reported for a Ne-Ar mixture in the binarycollision approximation. Two of the known expressions for the induced dipole moment are tested and two others are proposed to obtain good nyeement with experiment.

Calculations for the collision-induced absorption in a He-Ne mixture in the far infmred (200-600 cm?) are presented.
