✦ Synopsis

Chromium concentrations of breakfast cereals ranged from 3 to 70 1 rip/g; on a per serving basis (50 g) from 0.15 to 35 pg. Several cereals, especially high-bran cereals, contained more than 10% of the minimum suggested safe and adequate daily intake of chromium per serving. These data demonstrate that while the chromium content of breakfast cereals varies widely, several breakfast cereals are rich sources of dietary chromium.
