The Reaction of Polyhalides with Allylsilanes Catalyzed by Copper(I) Chloride.

-Allyltrimethylsilane (I) reacts with polyhalogen compounds (II) in the presence of copper species affording polyhalo compounds containing an allyl group. Other allylsilanes, e.g. (IV), (VI), and (IX), give various products.
