Reductive Cyanation: A Key Step for a Short Synthesis of (-)-(2S,3S)-3-Hydroxyproline. -A short, stereoselective synthesis of a 3-hydroxyproline (VII) starting from L-malic acid is described. Key step is a stereospecific reductive cyanation of compound (IV), which leads in contrast to former studie
