Synthesis and Pharmacological Activity of 2-(Substituted Phenyl)-3-(2 or 3-((4-Substituted Phenyl-4-hydroxy)piperidino)ethyl or propyl)-1,3-thiazolidin-4-ones.

-A new series of 1,3-thiazolidinone analogues of loperamide (cf. (IV), 10 examples) are synthesized and evaluated for their antidiarrheal activity. Derivative (IVb) proves to be the most active compound among the thiazolidinones obtained.
