β¦ Synopsis
The title compound (IV) crystallizes in the monoclinic thalenite-type structure, space group P2 1 /n, Z = 4. The structure consists of triangular [Y 3 F] 8+ cations and catena-trisilicate anions, [Si 3 O 10 ] 8-, which exhibit a horseshoe-shape resulting from two vertex-shared terminal SiO 4 tetrahedra with both staggered and eclipsed conformation relative to the central one.
