-The novel isotypic title compounds (triclinic, P1, Z = 2) are prepared by reaction of Se, SeX4, and MX5 (X: Cl, M: Nb; X: Br, M: Ta) in SnCl4 and SiBr4, resp., at 150 • C (evacuated glass ampoules). The black crystals, which adopt the Se17(WCl6)2 structure type, are built-up from octahedral (MX6)-and (Se17)2+ ions. The cation consists of two 7-membered rings bridged by an Se3 chain. -(BECK,
