✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Ruthenium‐catalyzed reaction of styrene derivatives (II) with α,α‐dichloro‐malononitrile, ‐malonate or ‐acetonitrile (I) proceeds via a double Kharasch pathway to give symmetrical or unsymmetrical 1,5‐diaryl‐1,5‐dichlorides in good yields.
