✦ Synopsis

Radical Cyclization of Allyl 2-Iodophenyl Ether, N,N-Diallyl-2iodoaniline, and 2-Iodoethanal Acetal by Means of Trialkylmanganate(II).

-Treatment of halophenyl ethers, N,N-diallyl haloanilines or iodoethanal acetals with Bu 3 MnLi provides the corresponding benzofurans or indolines in good yields. The use of Grignard reagents in the presence of catalytic MnCl 2 is also possible.
