Practical Synthesis of Taxol Side Chain.

-A practical large-scale synthesis of the taxol side chain is achieved via the coupling of the chiral imine (V) with ketene acetal (II) followed by sequential reactions of lactamization, demethylation, methanolysis, and N-benzoylation.
