Analogues.

-A series of several 5-substituted camptothecin analogues [cf. (II), (IV), (VI)] are synthesized from the natural alkaloid (I) and evaluated for their in vitro anticancer activity. Some of these analogues, e.g. (VIa), show excellent activity against human tumor cell lines.
