Electron Microscopy and X-Ray Diffraction Study on the Structure of TaReSe 4 Layer Crystals.

-The structure of layered crystals of the title selenide, obtained by solid-phase vacuum synthesis, is formulated more precisely based on electron-microscopic and X-ray studies. In addition to a major phase of the 2H-polytype, which is isostructural to 2H-MoS 2 , a superstructure minor phase based on the ordered TaReSe 4 phase (space group P6 3 /mmc) is established. A plausible model of intercalation is proposed. -
