✦ Synopsis
The title compounds are prepared from melts of mixtures of the elements. The isotypic [SnP 3 ] compounds crystallize in the orthorhombic system (space group Cmca, Z = 8) as determined by single crystal XRD, and contain dimeric [Sn 2 P 6 ] 10-anions formed by edge-sharing of two SnP 4 tetrahedra. Na 2 K 3 [SnBi 3 ] crystallizes in the orthorhombic system with space group Ibca and Z = 8. In the anionic partial structure [SnBi 4 ] tetrahedra are connected via common corners to infinite 1 ∞[SnBi3] 5-Zweier-single chains. The Na and K cations separate the chains from each other.
