The title compounds are prepared from melts of mixtures of the elements. The isotypic [SnP 3 ] compounds crystallize in the orthorhombic system (space group Cmca, Z = 8) as determined by single crystal XRD, and contain dimeric [Sn 2 P 6 ] 10-anions formed by edge-sharing of two SnP 4 tetrahedra. Na
