✦ Synopsis

Acetogenic Isoquinoline Alkaloids. Part 117. First Total Synthesis of Dioncophylline B, a 7,6'-Coupled Naphthylisoquinoline Alkaloid.

-The title compound is synthesized by a crucial biaryl coupling of the appropriately functionalized naphthalene (I) and the isoquinoline (II) with Mom-protected oxygen substituents next to the coupling sites, thus providing the first example of the preparation of any 7,6'-coupled naphthylisoquinoline alkaloid.
