A Synthesis of (Β±)-Stemodinone: An Application of Organoiron Chemistry to the Construction of Sterically Congested Quaternary Carbon Centers.
-Iron complex (I) is used as starting A ring precursor in the construction of the stemodinone ring system. Coupling of complex (I) with enolstannane (II) that corresponds to the D ring and following elaboration of the remaining rings by appropriate bond connections between the residues incorporated into each subunit gives the enone ( XIV), that represents the direct precursor for the target stemodinone ( XV). -(PEARSON, A.
