A Concise Route to Novel 1-Aryl and 1-Pyridyl-2azabicycylo[2.1.1]hexanes.

-Sensitized photolysis of readily prepared ene-carbamates (III) results in intramolecular [2 + 2] cycloaddition to azabicyclo[2.1.1]hexanes (IV). The products [cf. (IVc)] can be further converted to analogues (V) of 2,4-methanonicotine.
