When cuprous bromide reacts with an excess of ethylmagnesium bromide in ethyl or c-butyl ether, a copper-containing red solution is formed that markedly catalyzes the reaction of ethyl bromide with ethylmagnesium bromide to give a mixture of ethane and ethylene, 2 usually in the ratio of 1.3 or less

β¦ Synopsis
Laser-induced fluorescence (LIF) has been used to probe the internal energy state of nascent BaBr products formed in the reactions of Bat BrR ( R=CZHS, C H C H 3 7, 4 P, CsH,, ). Moreover, these reactions have been theoretically studied in an LEPS potential energy surface with a single-particle approximation for the R group. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimental ones.
