โฆ Synopsis
Changes are being introduced into the editorial structure and operations of Molecular Carcinogenesis. We decided to do away with the triumvirate of Editors-in-Chief, in order to centralize and simplify the editorial decision-making process. I am honored to have been appointed sole Editor-in-Chief as of January 1, 2003.
Dr. Thomas J. Slaga, who co-founded the Journal with Dr. Stuart H. Yuspa, has graciously agreed to continue serving as Consulting Editor of Molecular Carcinogenesis. So also will Dr. J. Carl Barrett who, with Dr. Slaga, helped turn a nascent publication into the world-renowned publication that we know today. They will focus on the important task of selecting topics and authors for future review articles. We plan to publish more review articles in the coming years as a service to our readership.
In the months ahead, we will complete the process of selective rotation of members of the Editorial Board as well as the pool of expert referees who make the peer-review process work for the Journal. New research investigators will be added to the Editorial Board in ''classes'' appointed for 3-year terms of service. We extend our thanks for a job well done to those who are rotated off the Board, and we will continue to provide a complimentary subscription to Molecular Carcinogenesis for each of them.
Also, in the interest of streamlining, administration of the manuscript peer-review process has been relocated from the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center to the headquarters of the Journal's publisher. In taking this step, I want to express my thanks and deep appreciation to Dr. Maureen E. Goode, Managing Editor, and the staff of the Department of Scientific Publications at M. D. Anderson Cancer Center for their devotion to Molecular Carcinogenesis.
