HPLC-MS (electrospray ionization or atmospheric pressure chemical ionization) was applied to the analysis of cucurbitacins in medicinal plants. High molecular weight plant constituents were separated from cucurbitacins by gel chromatography of the crude methanolic extracts. HPLC was performed on a Z
