In the crystal structure of the title compound, (C 5 H 7 N 2 ) 2 -[CoCl 4 ], the Co II ion is coordinated by four chloride ions. The Co atom lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis. The structure is stabilized by an extensive network of N-HÁ Á ÁCl hydrogen bonds.

✍ Wang, Yan-Ling ;Wang, Yong-Jin ;Wang, Rui-He ;Yao, Jun ;Zhao, Xiu-Tai 📂 Article 📅 2007 🏛 International Union of Crystallography 🌐 English ⚖ 86 KB

In the title complex, (C 6 H 8 N) 2 [Cd(C 3 S 5 ) 2 ], the Cd II ion is coordinated by four dmit (2-thioxo-1,3-dithione-4,5-dithiolate) S atoms in a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The Nmethylpyridinium cations link with the Cd II complex anion via weak C-HÁ Á ÁS hydrogen bonding.
