The tetradentate Schiff base ligand derived from the condensation of pyrrole-2-carbaldehyde and cyclohexane-1,2-diamine forms a square-planar four-coordinate Ni complex, [Ni(C 16 H 18 N 4 )]. The compound crystallizes with two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit.
