✦ Synopsis
The title compound, [Ni(C 17 H 14 N 3 O 2 ) 2 ]Á2C 3 H 7 NOÁ2H 2 O, contains Ni II cations (site symmetry 1) chelated by two deprotonated Schiff bases in a trans-NiN 2 O 2 square-planar geometry. The complex molecule and the dimethylformamide (DMF) and water molecules interact by way of O-HÁ Á ÁO and N-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds, resulting in a layered structure.

The Cu atom in the title compound, [Cu(C~16~H~10~BrN~4~O~3~)~2~(C~3~H~7~NO)~2~], lies on a special position of \overline{1} site symmetry in a grossly elongated CuN~2~O~4~ octahedral geometry [Cu...O~DMF~ = 3.014 (4) Å]. The Cu atom is also __N__,__O__-chelated by the hydrazonate ligand. An N—H...O
The Cu II atom in the title complex, [Cu(C 12 H 12 N 2 O 3 )-(C 5 H 8 N 2 )], is coordinated by two carboxyl O atoms and one hydrazine N atom from the 4-oxidopent-3-en-2-one 2hydroxybenzoylhydrazone ligand (sph 2À ) and one N atom of 3,5-dimethylpyrazole, forming a distorted square-planar geometry.
In the title compound, [Zn(C 13 H 9 N 2 O) 2 ]Á2C 3 H 7 NO, the Zn II ion is located on a twofold axis and chelated by two 2-(2hydroxyphenyl)benzimidazole ligands with a distorted tetrahedral geometry.
