✦ Synopsis

The cluster dication of the title compound, Cu~2~Mo~2~(C~10~H~15~)~2~S~4~(C~5~H~5~N)~2~~2~, has [(η^5^-C~5~Me~5~)~2~Mo~2~(μ-S)~2~S~2~] units linked to Cu(py)^+^ units (py is pyridine) by Cu—S bonds and features a cubane-like [Mo~2~S~4~Cu~2~] core framework. The Cu atom shows a distorted tetrahedral geometry in a tetrahedron of three μ~3~-S atoms and one N atom.
