## Abstract A KKR model is used to calculate energy bands in the Hg~1−__x__~Cd~__x__~Te mixed crystal system near the fundamental band gap. The results are presented in terms of **__k · p__** bands according to Kane and compared to experimental **__k · p__** parameters for the conduction band. For
