Abstract

A KKR model is used to calculate energy bands in the Hg~1−x~Cd~x~Te mixed crystal system near the fundamental band gap. The results are presented in terms of k · p bands according to Kane and compared to experimental k · p parameters for the conduction band. For the heavy hole bands constant energy contours are given in the (100), (110), and (111) planes.
