Brief Data Reports been mapped to Chr 3 by human-hamster somatic cell hybrid analysis. We localized the mouse Trh gene on Chr 6 in a region with homology to the human Chr 3 [6]. There are no known mouse mutants in this region that exhibit hypothroidism or growth insufficiency.

We isolated several cDNA fragments by immunoscreening a human cDNA library with our monoclonal antibody, BG5, that showed neuronal staining on human and rat brain sections. A 1,570 bp sequence of one cDNA fragment showed 75% homology to the rat microtubule-associated protein 1A (MAP1 A) cDNA sequenc
Nicein/kalinin is an epithelium-specific adhesion molecule involved in maintaining dermo-epidermal cohesion and promoting attachment of keratinocytes (Rousselle et al. 1991; Verrando et al. 199 I). The protein co-localizes with the hemidesmosomal filaments connecting the epidermal basal cells to the
The gene for the mouse recoverin protein (23 kDa photoreceptor-specific protein, S-modulin, or the Cancer-Associated Retinopathy protein) was recently assigned to mouse chromosome 11, closely linked to trp53. In this paper, the human gene for recoverin was localized to human chromosome 17 by Souther
The segregation of the mouse gene for uridine monophosphatase-2 (Umph-2) was examined in 14 independent mouse-Syrian hamster hybrids and 10 hybrid subclones. Umph-2 cosegregated with the mouse galactokinase (Glk) gene in 23 of the 24 hybrids and showed at least four discordances with all other mouse
