โฆ Synopsis
Modular microcomputer-based CAD
Apricot, a UK microcomputer systems' company, has launched a CAD system to run on its range of IBM compatible microcomputers. The Apricot Designer system is also compatible with Autocad.
Apricot Designer is a modular system which allows drawings to be edited, annotated, hatched, dimensioned and levelled. Drawings can be transferred to or from an Autocad system. Apricot Designer can also produce manufacturing information automatically e.g. bills of materials and NC tapes. Apricot Designer is supported on a range of equipment from single user microcomputers to systems capable of supporting up to 64 users.
A single user Apricot Designer 2D drafting module will cost ยฃ1950 (exclusive of VAT) -a 3D visualization module would cost an extra ยฃ500 and the bill of materials module would also cost an extra ยฃ500. A multi-user 2D drafting system suitable for use with four screens will cost ยฃ3900 (exclusive of VAT), and the extra modules for 3D or bill of materials would cost a further ยฃ111 each. This price does not include any hardware, although some dealers will be selling complete packages. Apricot Designer will run on Apricot's AT compatibles or any AT compatible microcomputers.
