✦ Synopsis

The tridentate Schiff base ligand derived from the condensation of salicylaldehyde and dl-tyrosine, in the presence of pyridine, forms a square-pyramidal ®ve-coordinate Cu complex, [Cu(C 16 H 13 NO 4 )(C 5 H 5 N)(H 2 O)], with a water molecule occupying the apical site.
