✦ Synopsis

A new approach, combining direct and indirect control methods, recently proposed by the authors is used to adaptively control plants with unknown parameters. The plant parameters are known to lie in a specified compact set in parameter space and the output of the plant has to follow a desired output in the presence of a pie ewise-constant input disturbance. Simulation results indicate that the combined method performs bet t " er than either the direct or the indirect method.

This paper deals with adaptive control based on explicit identification. The problem of admissibility of the identified model is solved without requiring persistently exciting inputs. This solution is robust with respect to process variations, unstructured disturbances and model order errors. Finall

## Abstract In this paper, we solve the problem of output tracking for linear uncertain systems in the presence of unknown actuator failures using discontinuous projection‐based output feedback adaptive robust control (ARC). The faulty actuators are characterized as unknown inputs stuck at unknown
