β¦ Synopsis
It has been shown that by using 500 MHz 'H NMR it is possible, without prior separation, to quantify individual nitroaromatic compounds present in commercial nitroglycerine based explosives (gelignites). Patterns within the quantitative data provide a good degree of sample batch characterisation; typing of the explosive is achieved via total nitroaromatic content.

A rapid and easy method based on proton magnetic resonance spectrometry is proposed for the determination of nitrilase and amidase activities. The technique is applicable to many substrates of different chemical types: aliphatic, a-ethylenic, cY-hydroxy, and a-amino nitriles and amides. The rate of
## Abstract A procedure is described which allows the recording of ^1^H NMR spectra from high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fractions flowing through the magnetic field with a velocity of either 0.05 or 0.25 cm/s. The NMR spectra are obtained by the pulse Fourier transform technique; the
## Abstract The 270 MHz ^1^H n.m.r. spectra of some model tetrahydroprotoberberines have been analysed and the dependence of the chemical shifts and the geminal and interbenzylic coupling constants on the conformation examined. Their use for conformational analysis was illustrated on two 8βmethyl s
