S'-W]-3'-Azid~3'dcoxythymidinc @) was prepared at a specific activity of 14.0 Cilmmol by a twestep synthetic sequence involving controlled oxidation of the unlabelled compound c1) to the 5'-aldehyde (1) fdlowed by reduction with (W]-NaBH.. Purification was performed by preparative TLC. The radiochemical purity was 99.2%.
