The new Mo(II) triflate complex 5 has been found to catalyze the C-C bond forming allylic substitution with silyl enol ethers derived from [i-dicarbonyls (e.g., 6 + 12 ---> 14) and from simple ketones (e.g., 6 + 13 ---> 16) as nucleophiles.

Allylic substitution reactions catalyzed by Pd-or Pt-Yliphos complexes are examined. The reaction of 1,3-diphenyl-2propenyl acetate with benzylamine proceeded in the presence of Pd(dba) 2 -Yliphos to give N-benzyl-1,3-diphenyl-2-propenylamine in high yields with high enantioselectivities (up to 90%
