The liquid phase acylation of 2-methoxynaphthalene 2-MON with acetic anhydride over various solid acid catalysts was investigated under controlled reaction conditions. Only zeolite beta exhibited good regioselectivities to desired 2-acetyl-6-Ε½ . methoxynaphthalene 2,6-AMON . Characterization studies
The quantitative analysis of mixtures of glycosphingolipids by acetylation with radioactive acetic anhydride and separation by thin-layer chromatography is described. The method was primarily developed for screening of glycosphingolipid composition of tissues, cultured cells, and virus preparations.
