โฆ Synopsis
AR estimate of the aeronomiully important CIOSS section for the production of 0('S') by electron impact dissociation of02 has been made based on the recently published work of several groups: The cross section reaches P maximvm value of 7 X 10-*8 cm' r 50% at about 100 eV.The assumptions made in arriving at this cross section suggest sever31 experiments which might be performed to further refine this estimate.
Recently several investigators have studied the product!on of OlsSo) atoms by electron impact dissociation of02. Ajeilo [ 1 ] observed O(sSo) atoms optical-

We report the first experimental and theoretical observation of a broad peak in the kinetic energy dependence of the total cross sections for the title reaction with v~ = 0 and 1, in the laboratory collision energy range of 8-400 eV. A theoretical analysis reveals that the peak in the total cross se
