The reaction o f amnonia-l5N w i t h benzaldehyde i n 50% aq. methanol followed by slow removal o f solve t l e d t o a high y i e l d o f a c r y s t a l l i n e product (benzylimine-r5N).

On reduction with sodium cyanoborohydride a good y i e l d o f benzylamine-15N was obtained. The syntheti c usefulness o f t h i s compound i s discussed.
