✦ Synopsis

The stereoselectivity of iododesilylation of terminal E-vinylsilanes varies with changing amount of Lewis acid.

The use of this "tunable" stereoselective reaction was demonstrated by the syntheses of two insect sex pheromones with defined E/Z isomeric ratios.
