## Abstract In a new simplified model, heterotopic heart transplants in rats function normally with only an aortoaortic anastomosis when one of the 5 lobes of the lungs is attached to the transplant. If an attempt is made to remove the remaining lobe of the lung, the heart dilates, fibrillates, and

Abstract
Hemodynamic studies were carried out on a series of rats undergoing heartβlung transplantation according to the technique of Sun Lee. The results suggested a new hypothesis of blood circulation in the heartβlung block by demonstrating the lack of necessity for the venovenous anastomosis. A new technique, with just one aortoaortic anastomosis, was therefore evaluated. Its value and reliability in a series of 30 rats are discussed.

The single-anastomosis heart-lung transplantation method in the rat developed by Lee and associates has been examined and has proven to be simple and reproducible. Technical procedures are discussed emphasizing those procedures that require special caution to ensure successful graft function. The do
With the use of microsurgery, we have developed a method of measuring hemodynamic parameters in a rat not possible with previous technology. Three groups of rats were studied: a chemically induced pulmonary hypertensive group (PH); a chemically induced pulmonary hypertensive group treated with singl
The surgical procedure of intestinal transplantation disrupts the graft's lymphatic drainage. Despite morphological regeneration, the functional impairment of the lymphatic system may contribute to many pathophysiological changes after transplant. ## Abstract Ochratoxin A (OTA) is a mycotoxin produced by different fungi. The most pronounced adverse effect of OTA is hepatonephrotoxicity. Melatonin (MEL) has an antioxidant effect and has freeβradical scavenger properties. The effects of OTA on heart and lung tissue and possible ameliorating ef
