β¦ Synopsis
Non-aqueous solutions of Ellman's reagent [5,5%-dithio(2-nitrobenzoic acid), DTNB] can be used to quantify thiols supported on macroporous polystyrene and TentaGel resins. Organic solutions of Ellman's reagent may also be used as a qualitative tests for thiols on a wider range of solid supports.

Isozyme patterns may be analyzed quantitatively, without the use of a densitometer, by performing serial twofold dilutions of a sample to a visual end point. The specific activity (S) of a given dehydrogenase isozyme can be assessed in the presence of other isozymes catalyzing the same reaction, by
A simple method for microdetermination of muramic acid is elaborated. The method is based on the degradation of muramic acid to lactic acid, followed by degradation of the latter to acetaldehyde which can be determined calorimetrically with p-hydroxydiphenyl (PHD) A linear relationship exists betwee
