✦ Synopsis
A procedure for the determination of free and total cholesterol in lipid extracts is described.
The method for free cholesterol employs cholesterol oxidase to generate H202 and peroxidase to catalyze the reaction of Hz02 with o-dianisidine to yield a colored product. For the determination of total cholesterol, cholesterol ester hydrolase is included. o 1984 Academic PW.
