β¦ Synopsis
Almtraet A navigation system hag been developed for the guidance and control of autonomously guided vehicles using a novel ultrasonic 3D location system in conjunction with traditional ultrasonic rangefmders. This system is most suitable for navigation in s~' wYmred environments, e.g., factories, hospitals, oItiΒ’Β’s, nuclear power plants and other hazardous areas. The grengths of the system are accuracy (2.54mm), ease oftwe, self imRallation/Β’alibration, and fast position update rates (>100Hz). A method for automatic moditicatiom of maps hag been implemented. An objectoriented approach hag been used to develop β’ system that is robust and flexible.
