✦ Synopsis
Abstract
A one‐dimensional coordination polymer involving Tl ⋅⋅⋅ C interactions, [Tl(μ~4~‐dpa)]~n~(Hdpa = diphenylacetic acid), was synthesized and characterized. The single‐crystal X‐ray data of the compound show that the coordination number of the Tl^I^ ions is five and that Tl centers have an irregular coordination sphere containing a ‘configurationally active’ lone pair/hexahapto (η^6^) interaction, thus resulting in a total hapticity of eleven for a TlC~6~O~5~ environment.
